Best Party & Bottomless Brunch Spots in Chicago

Love to brunch?

Who doesn’t, right?

It’s a fun way to catch up with your favorite people, get a tasty breakfast, and day drink in style.

Plus, brunch is the perfect excuse to explore cool new restaurants and check out different areas of Chicago.

So, if you’re ready to break out to new brunch territory in Chicago, here are some of our favorite places.

We’ve picked these Chicago brunch spots because they offer exceptional cuisine, dazzling drinks, and uniquely charming atmospheres.

1. The Whale Chicago

When you want brunch to be a winning experience, drop by The Whale Chicago. Glamorous and luxurious, The Whale Chicago is modeled after the treatment and service that high rollers in Vegas get, with every detail curated to give you a cream-of-the-crop experience.

The simple, stylish dining room is a striking space with a blue tiled bar, bright leather seating, and lively black-and-white pictures of old movie stars. That clean, striking appearance matches The Whale Chicago’s irresistible brunch offerings, like the lobster and waffles, the trout schnitzel, the Crab Cake Benny, and the blueberry muffin skillet.

For “liquid brunch” options, you can opt for the popular mimosa kit, which serves parties of 4 or more — or you can order an iced Irish coffee, an Aperol Spritz, or The WHALE Bloody Mary.

Also, it’s worth knowing that The Whale Chicago only has about 50% capacity for walk-in guests. So, you may want to make a reservation if you have your heart set on this Chicago brunch spot.

Neighborhood: Logan Square

Brunch Day(s) & Hours: Saturdays & Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Price: $65 mimosa kit (serves 4+) & prices vary for brunch dishes and other drinks

2. Summer House Santa Monica

Relish a lovely brunch with the sunny, breezy vibes of the California coast when you visit Summer House Santa Monica. With a sparkling, trendy dining room, several hanging plants, and a retractable glass ceiling, Summer House Santa Monica harmonizes the upscale with the laid-back to create an ideal setting for brunch.

The inspired cuisine, made from local, sustainable ingredients, is focused on “communal dining,” meaning the dishes are designed to be shared.

And that’ll give you the opportunity to try many of Summer House Santa Monica’s delectable brunch offerings — like their crispy strawberry waffles, the short rib hash, the huevos rancheros, or the prosciutto and egg pizza.

The drink options are no less exciting, with several hand-crafted cocktails, coffee cocktails, and an extensive liquor and wine menu curated by renowned sommeliers (there are also several mouthwatering mocktails).

And, just recently, Summer House Santa Monica opened up for brunch on Mondays too!

The only difference is that Monday brunch will feature rotating, seasonal specials and a secret menu — you have to show up to Monday brunch to find out what’s being served.

Pair that with a large-format drink, like the M&A Bloody (Mary) or a drink called Full of Emotions. You can also order a champagne cart or a specialty hand-crafted cocktail, like a Spicy Lady or a Goose Express.

The beverage options are equally impressive — while you can always opt for bottomless mimosas or Rosé, there’s also an exquisite cocktail menu with options like The Honey Badger, a French 75, and The French Alchemist.

Enjoy that and more in Venteux Brasserie’s elegant dining room that’s chic and sassy with its “modernized vintage decor and tuft fabric chairs” that welcome you under soft lighting.

It also has one of the most popular brunch menus in town. In fact, $75 gives you access to the all-you-can-eat buffet and a mimosa package — that includes “stations” for omelets, bacon, waffles, seafood, pizza, cheese, boozy desserts, and more. There’s even a donut wall!

And if you don’t want to sip on mimosas as you dive into that feast, you can always go for one of the many other cocktails, shots, mules, beers, seltzers, or wines on the Fremont’s drink menu

These and other offerings have made Fremont the go-to brunch destination for locals and visitors alike. That’s why there’s usually a waitlist for brunch reservations here (so you’re probably going to want to call at least a couple of weeks ahead of time to reserve a table).
