Hitting Up a Pool Party This Summer? 8 Tips
Here’s what you can do to set yourself up for BIG fun and minimal headaches or problems whenever you’re going to a pool party or day club event:
Think about the experience you want. Are you looking to party on a budget? Or do you want a high-end VIP experience? You may need to plan ahead and spend more for the VIP experience, but it can be totally worth your while, especially if you want to impress friends, make memories, or celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Get your sun protection on early. Put sunscreen on before you get to the party. Also, bring sunglasses, a hat, and/or a visor.
Don’t forget about the tip. Admission fees, cabanas, bottle service, and other VIP experiences don’t include tips. So, count on shelling out a little more to tip your servers.
Drink plenty of water. The sun can dehydrate you fast, so make sure you’re drinking water with (or without) any other beverages.
Check out club rules first. Lots of day clubs have rules about what you can and can’t bring. They also have strict dress codes, some of which may surprise you. So, take a second to check out the rules before you show up and get turned away for something silly, like wearing cutoff shorts.
Book a room or ride ahead of time. Many of the hottest pool parties and day clubs are at resorts and hotels. Take advantage of that and book a room if you’re going to be partying all day. Or set your ride up ahead of time to make things as easy as possible after a long day in the sun.
Plan to get there early. Many day clubs have waitlists, with people ready to take your spot if you’re even 30 minutes late. So, leave early and don’t risk something like traffic ruining your plans to chill at a hot pool party.
Don’t bring a lot of stuff with you. Several venues don’t allow large bags. At some, security will go through everything you bring, meaning it’s going to take longer to get in. Plus, you may have to pay to check your bag if it’s too large. So, only bring what you really need.
